Throughout the majority of human history, a nation typically represented a fusion of communities and individuals united by shared ancestry, language, culture, or history within a defined geographical region.
According to this traditional understanding, it becomes abundantly clear that the contemporary United States largely fails to satisfy many essential criteria defining a nation's identity.
The reasons for this are extensive, but one major factor has been the self-destructive immigration policies of the United States, which have placed heavy burdens on its citizenry while demonstrating a significant disregard for the preservation of its cultural legacy.
In fact, the conscious decision to refrain from enforcing even the most fundamental laws regarding U.S. immigration policy, as emphasized by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, has enabled millions of immigrants not just to enter the United States but vanish into its interior, resembling nothing short of an invasion.
As such, Texas has decided to take matters into its own hands and secure sections of its border using its National Guard, effectively giving the political middle finger to the Biden Administration, who would love nothing more than to continue cutting the razor wire barely protecting our border with Mexico.
But why would a nation’s political leadership allow its borders to be breached in such a brazen manner?
Recently, Elon Musk offered his thoughts on the matter on X:
As expected, leftists, many of whom worship at the altar of liberalism and the unquestioned benefits of immigration, jumped on this observation, citing it as another example of a vile racist “conspiracy theory” promoted by the world’s richest man.
And yet, this “conspiracy theory” has been regularly discussed among liberal elites for decades. In fact, replacement is at the center of the Democrat’s electoral strategy.
Returning to Elon's initial assertion, the Democrats' strategy is straightforward and effective. In many instances, by the time a citizenry begins to recognize the crisis, it's already too late. This is because the notion of forcibly deporting millions of illegal immigrants is a non-starter for Democrats and politically undesirable for the current version of the GOP, to our dismay.
So what is on the horizon unless a truly “America First” immigration policy arises?
A politically reliable and permanent voting bloc for Democrats and amnesty for millions of illegal aliens…eventually.
We know this because it’s already happened in the past, and surprisingly, it was implemented by conservative hero President Ronald Reagan.
In 1986, Reagan granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants in that year’s immigration reform bill. In exchange for that concession, there was supposed to be tighter security at the Mexican border, and employers would face strict penalties for hiring undocumented workers.
That never happened, of course, because for the left, there was too much power to be gained from immigrant voters and, on the right, too much money to be made from cheap labor.
Failure to secure the border for the nearly 40 years after Reagan’s amnesty has led to the current border crisis that drove Texas to take matters into its own hands. Since Biden took office in 2020, the U.S. has seen an explosion in border encounters year over year.
This is, of course, by design.
And so, we have now reached the “noticing” stage, where the American people take a quick break from following Taylor Swift and the NFL to focus, however quickly, on national sovereignty.
This has led to a stopgap “bipartisan” border deal that would “shut down” the border when encounters reached 5,000 per day. That would mean potentially 1,825,000 newly arrived immigrants would be eligible to have their “asylum” claims officially heard.
Keep in mind that the majority of asylum claims receive rubber stamp approvals.
If the 5,000 daily threshold was reached, and the border was “closed” until encounters dropped, there is a provision to still allow 1,400 migrants per day to enter and have their asylum claims considered.
What’s comical is the assertion that the border can ever be “shut down,” given current resources, as confirmed by the 1.7 million known gotaways that have occurred at the Southwest Border under President Biden’s administration.
We are at a tipping point.
As of October of 2023, the total foreign-born or immigrant population (legal and illegal) was estimated to be 49.5 million, an increase of 4.5 million since President Biden took office, representing 15% of the U.S. population - the highest in history. Of that, it is estimated that 12.3 million are illegal immigrants, although many believe this number to be on the low end.
Given the current crisis and the sure failure of any stopgap measure to secure the border long-term, we are heading towards another “broad, comprehensive immigration reform bill,” which will assuredly include some form of amnesty. Once the GOP rolls over for that, as the GOP always does, the future one-party state will be all but secured.
And if amnesty is not a part of any future immigration bills, the continued underfunding of border security, birthright citizenship, and the legalization and expansion of noncitizen voting will eventually accomplish the same goal.
How do we know this? Aren’t many immigrants from South America socially “conservative?” Can’t the GOP simply court this new voting bloc?
No. They can’t. And don’t take my word for it. The voting statistics don’t lie.
In 2012, a survey of Latinos who weren’t eligible to vote found 31% identified as Democrats and just 4% as Republicans, with “independent and other” as the remainder. And let’s be honest. We know how those independents would vote when faced with the only two real choices appearing on ballots.
We saw this play out in 2012, where Latino voters favored Obama over Mitt Romney by 71% - 27%.
Fast forward to 2020, and Latinos supported Biden over Trump by a margin of at least 2 to 1 and cast 16.6 million votes, an increase of 30.9% over 2016. With immigration levels skyrocketing and identity politics taking center stage in American politics, the share of Latino votes is only going to increase, as will the share voting for Democrats.
The essence of reality transcends conspiracy theories. Demographics and the left's capacity to bring in prospective voters, legally and illegally, lie at the heart of the struggle for the future of the United States.
The unrelenting influx of immigrants, coupled with birthright citizenship, the broadening of noncitizen voting rights, and the possibility of future amnesties, will actualize the notion of a one-party state, previously dismissed as a vile "conspiracy theory."
